The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce’s recent Macon & Eggs Military Roundtable was more than just a breakfast—it was a powerful convergence of military insight, civic engagement, and community collaboration. Held on June 5 at Central Georgia Technical College’s Aerospace Training and Sustainment Center (Robins North), the event brought together leaders and citizens to explore national security through a distinctly local lens.

This quarter’s theme, “DIME in Action: Understanding National Security through a Local Lens,” highlighted the interconnected roles of Diplomacy, Information, Military, and Economic power in shaping both global and regional security.

The program was proudly sponsored by JP Morgan Chase and supported by The Miner Agency, GIGA, Inc., and Central Georgia Technical College—a testament to the strong public-private partnerships driving Central Georgia forward.

The location itself was strategic: Robins North is a high-tech training facility that plays a critical role in preparing the future workforce for Robins Air Force Base, one of the region’s most vital economic and defense assets.

The discussion opened with remarks from Chrissy Miner, Vice Chair of Government and Military Affairs and Principal of The Miner Agency, who emphasized the importance of understanding how local efforts contribute to national defense.

“Macon & Eggs is more than a breakfast; it’s a bridge between the military mission and the community that supports it.” – Chrissy Miner

The sold-out program featured a lineup of distinguished speakers, including U.S. Air Force Retired Major General Thomas Grabowski, who underscored the importance of local awareness in global affairs:

“National security is local security. Everything that happens worldwide will eventually impact the local Middle Georgia community.” – Maj Gen (Ret.) Grabowski

Other speakers addressed critical topics such as:

  • Information warfare and the evolving cyber landscape
  • Peace through strength and military readiness
  • The role of economic infrastructure in national defense

The conversation was both informational and enlightening, offering attendees a rare opportunity to engage directly with military leaders and policy influencers. From business leaders to educators and veterans, the audience left with a deeper understanding of how Central Georgia’s contributions resonate far beyond its borders.

As the Greater Macon Chamber continues to foster these vital connections, the Macon & Eggs series remains a cornerstone of civic engagement, where breakfast meets big ideas, and local voices help shape national outcomes.

Stay tuned for the Macon Chamber’s next Macon & Eggs in August that will feature discussion and insight into Education and how to align it with our economy here in Central Georgia.
