The Greater Macon Chamber has welcomed Alex Mason to our staff team.

Alex Mason steps into the Director of Development role at the Macon Chamber of Commerce, tasked with crafting and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy. She will lead a dedicated team, translating the Chamber’s ambitious goals for our community into effective campaigns that secure the resources needed to make Macon an even more vibrant and prosperous place to live, work, and do business. Mason will oversee the development and administration of the fundraising budget, meticulously track key metrics, and spearhead initiatives to position the Chamber for sustainable growth. Alex is a Georgia College and State University graduate, from Marietta, Georgia. However, she chose Macon as a place to plant roots after falling in love with Middle Georgia while attending college in Milledgeville.

Here’s a little more about her…

Favorite place in Macon to unwind: “Walking our three dogs throughout our Historic Vineville Neighborhood – bonus points if its fall and the ginkgos are a robust yellow. HOW DREAMY?!”

Favorite lunch spot: “Fountain of Juice or Circa – That FOJ green tea lives rent free in my head. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but always, always get a basket of the mixed fries. At Circa, all I will say is try the Prescott Roll and thank me later. Yum!”

Favorite fun fact about Macon she’s learned so far: “Grant’s Lounge is deemed the Original Home of Southern Rock and gave musical starts to giants like the Allman Brothers, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, The Marshall Tucker Band, and others.”
