What We Do:
The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce seeks to unite all the public and private interests for the purpose of concerted action in supporting those activities which are broader than any single business or industry, but which promote the welfare of the city and area as a whole.  The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce is a working partnership of business and professional people with an interest in the community and area.  It is an organization of people who know the wisdom of coordinating their efforts under effective leadership for advancement and development of the community and the free enterprise system.

Objectives of the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce:
The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce is organized for the purpose of:

(a) advancing the positive growth and development of the Macon region;

(b) encouraging the growth of existing industries and businesses while giving all proper assistance to any new firms or individuals seeking to locate in the Macon region;

(c) supporting all those activities believed to be beneficial to the community and area, and opposing those which might be detrimental; and,

(d) in general, enhancing the standard of living for Macon area citizens, following always those policies intended to accomplish the greatest good for the greatest number.

 

Chamber Background:
The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1861. Since that time the Greater Macon Chamber has grown from a loose group of businesses that met a few times a year to discuss area problems to a viable business force in the area with a full-time paid professional staff and a strong volunteer community leadership.The Chamber is located just off Interstate 16 at 305 Coliseum Drive. The 13,000 square foot building sits across the parking lot from the Macon Centreplex
